As stated in a previous post, I was against spending what seemed like a small fortune to buy a Vitamix. I mean, come one, you can get a nice blender for a very nice price just about anywhere. I predicted it would be sitting on the counter gathering dust in a matter of weeks. Our reality one year into it is just the opposite.
We use it almost every morning for a breakfast smoothie. The thing is flat-out amazing. Toss in kale, fruit, oatmeal, flax seed, nuts…just about anything you have around the kitchen. Add some milk (of any kind) or juice and a bit of ice. Throw in a little honey or agave if want some sweetness. Bang! A perfect smoothie.
It’s great for hummus. A whiz at soup. We simply love it. The price is a bit of a killer, but ours is definitely a very useful kitchen utensil.

Yeah, they are a bit expensive… but I LOVE my Vitamix. I use it several times a day and it has never let me down. It does come with a free 7 year warranty if it breaks though, which adds a bit to my peace of mind.
P.S. A secret tip: You can get free shipping (normally $25+) using a Vitamix promotion code from an online affiliate like http://rawblends.com code

Even though you love the Vitamix, do you think it was worth the cost, or do you still think it was too expensive?

Josie: The VitaMix is an expensive unit for sure. If you use it, however, I believe it is worth the money. We make smoothies almost every morning. We made soup quite a few times last winter. I made hummus.
A regular blender works, but it will not get things as smooth nor make soup hot.
