Starting an exercise program wasn’t easy. I have never been very good at follow-through or “stick-to-itiveness.” I needed something that was simple and fun that would start me developing a routine. Routine… that would be a new concept for me.
The WII Fit gaming system seemed like it might be perfect. It had been really popular for the past two years. I decided I wanted one. The problem was they were in such demand, they were impossible to get at local stores. So, I ordered three systems online from major electronic stores, in hopes one would arrive in time for the holidays. Well, unexpectedly, all three arrived. So I gave one WII system to each of my kids. I wrapped one WII system and WII FIT and gave it to myself. Not an uncommon practice for me.
It was fun, flexible, interactive, colorful and something I could do right in my own living room.
So that is how my ” new me” began. Studies have concluded that it takes a person 21 days to change a habit, or start a new one. I knew I would need much more time than that. I proceeded to use it for the next seven months, five days a week. Every morning at 5:30 am. I was hooked. Is it possible exercising could be so easy? I wondered what the results would be. In the coming months, I’ll share the journey with you in future blog posts.

I’m curious to learn more about your journey. While I know a few people who have used WII FIT a few times, no one has stuck to it as regularly as you have for over seven months. What are some of your favorite exercises with the system?
